BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORKS: CONSTRUCTION OF 35.5KM DOUBLE CAT SURFACE
DESILTING OF KWARE LAKE, CHANNELIZATION, HEAD WORKS, WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT, FLOOD EMBANKMENT DYKE, 8KM WATER CONVEYANCE CANAL AND CONSTRUCTION OF KWARE IRRIGATION SCHEME (450HA) IN SOKOTO STATE

1. This invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice for this project, which appeared in the United Nations development business (UNDB) online reference No: AFDB 169-03/15 of 11th March, 2015 and on the African Group’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org).

2. The Federal Government of Nigeria has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Agricultural Transformation Agenda support program phase-1 (ATASP-1). It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to payments under the contract for which this invitation for Bids is issued.

3. The National Programme Coordination Team (NPCT) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for: Desilting Of Kware lake, Channelization, Headworks, water resources development, flood embankment dyke, 8km water conveyance canal and construction of 450Ha Kware Irrigation Scheme in Sokoto State as described below:

Complete set of bidding documents for the works may be purchased at the office address below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 100USD (one Hundred dollars) or Thirty thousand Naira (N30, 000.00). The method of payment shall be by Bank daft or direct transfer only in favour of:

4. Interested bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents at the address below from 09.00 to 15.00hrs Mondays through Fridays

5. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the international competitive Bidding (ICB) procedure specified in the Procurement Policy for Bank Group funded operations (policy), October 2015 which is available on the Banks website at http://www.afdb.org/en/projects-and operations/procurement/new-procedure- policy

6. bids should be delivered in a sealed envelope to the address and at the time and date stated below:

7. Bids must be accompanied with a bid security in the required amount indicate in the table above. Late bids will be rejected

8. Bids shall remain valid for one hundred and twenty (120) days after the deadline for bid submission prescribed above

9. The provisions in the instruction to bidders and in the general conditions of contract are the provisions of the African development bank standard bidding document: procurement of works

10. Bids will be opened at the same address in the presence of bidders representatives who choose to attend
