1.0 INTRODUCTION
(a) The Central Bank of Nigeria (hereafter referred to as “CBN” or “the Bank”), being the apex Bank of the country, occupies a central position in the economic and social development of Nigeria. The mandate of the Bank includes – to foster price stability, promote a sound financial system, and to oversee the development of a safe and efficient payment system, which are all conducive to the balanced growth of the Nigerian economy.
